Domaine Arlaud is a reference point for natural Burgundy wines farmed organically. The Domaine is located in Morey-Saint-Denis and each vintage we have tried has only reinforced their status in our minds. Led by Cyprian Arlaud, the family began farming organically in 2004 and in 2009 converted fully to biodynamic practices. They are the first estate to be certified organic and biodynamic in Morey-Saint-Denis! Marius, who led our tour and tasting was incredible, tasting us through many different cuvées with knowledge and patience. Such a great visit with David Vesselle @champagnejeanvesselle touring their facility in Bouzy! Incredible wines made with such care and love! Their famous Oeil de Perdrix is a beautiful orange-pink color and this “eye of the partridge” Pinot Noir-based wine historically was the hue of most Champagne made in Bouzy in the nineteenth century. (The wine’s singular hue is like the color of a partridge’s eye.) Pinot Noir grapes are macerated briefly to extract color then pressed. Jerome @champagne_billecart_salmon was the utmost warm professional who guided us up and down stairs, into deep, long and ancient cellars, into rain soaked vineyards redolent with the smell of petrichor on the tiny village streets, answered a million questions, patiently explaining the ins and outs of being one of the top champagne houses in the world and eventually leading us into a private salon overlooking the family gardens where we tasted multiple vintages of the prestige cuvees. @lilyceleste8 captured this amazing photo of Jerome explaining the role of yeast in champagne and how Billecart-Salmon’s patient approach results in the highest quality wines that we all know and love. @provisionsok

Champagne Billecart-Salmon is so very special to us as I proposed to @kala.the.wild with a bottle of their Rosé! And they are among the last family owned estates in Champagne! Our time there was a dizzying revelation of history, the future, touring caves and vineyards and learning about their relentless drive for innovation and the utmost quality. We were in love before but now, seeing it all in person it really drives it home the importance and legacy of this historic house. We are beyond proud to represent them in Oklahoma, now going on 10 years! @provisionsok

Made it to the Eiffel Tower finally. I’ve always imagined it was smaller in person but the reality is that it is absolutely massive. The footprint alone took quite a while just walk around under it. It was a real joy just to soak up the spectacle. @provisionsok

You wait in a loooooong line to get one of the best croissants in Paris @maison_isabelle_paris The line is incredibly long but it moves fast. The smell of butter fills the air spilling out of the front of the tiny bakery as you approach. To make your waiting even more interesting on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday an excellent farmers market is on the sidewalk in front. Radishes, cheeses, moutardes, street food, clothes nearly anything you can imagine and all top quality right there. Once you actually get your hands on the coveted croissant the bag is warm and the croissants are perfectly crispy, not oily at all which imho is the big problem in the states, most croissants there are unavoidably greasy. This one was perfectly buttery and flakey with no perceptible grease on the bag or your hands. Just a perfect bite of what Paris does best. We were recommended to go to A LA BICHE AUBOIS @restaurantalabicheaubois and I don’t see how we could have had a warmer welcome or a better experience than this timeless bistro in the 12th. The restaurant was very crowded and as you entered the front door it was basically blocked by two tables with patrons that you had to scooch by in order to get in. That’s when the proprietor Bertrand and his wife greeted us, welcomed us into their place sat us down and proceeded to put out one classic flawlessly executed dish after another. Perfect eggs in Roquefort Cream, Coq Au Vin, Rabbit with Leeks, Beef Carpaccio and then lo and behold we learned it was apricot season! We had the greatest most indescribable apricot tart I’ve ever had. Super crazy delicious, worth the flight alone haha! Aloxe Corton by Albert Bichot was delicious and a 1/4 of the price it would be in the states! Bertrand sat with us, charmed every guest in the place, repeatedly sweetly flirted with Kala and Lily and generally put out the most hospitality you could imagine! Wow! What a first meal and experience! @provisionsok #peaceloveprovisions

But once again our friends at ZARATE called Taberna Lagüiña Lieu Dit, a legendary treasure of a restaurant high up in the hills and hidden away on a bluff overlooking the valley mere minutes away from DO FERREIRO. Lunch was one excellent dish after another from their Tortilla, to ceviche, to squid! All just wow. DAY 3: ZARATE - Galicia, Rias Baixas! We flew from Bilbao to Santiago de Compostela, the capital of Galicia on the western coast of Spain, just above Portugal. A short 45 minute drive south and you arrive at one of the greatest wine regions in the world, and home to one of the greatest white wine varietals, ALBARIÑO! In Rias Baixas there are a few producers revered above all others, ZARATE and DO FERREIRO are at the very top of quality. We spent the whole afternoon with Eulogio Pomares of Zarate. The winery estate sits in a dizzying patchwork of small vineyards surrounded by a neighborhood of growers. Each of these small houses has vines, some 2,000 small growers that mostly sell to the larger co-ops, but Eulogio farms organically with some bio-dynamic preparations. The main Zarate Albariño is made up of some 160 different plots farmed to Eulogio’s demanding standards. He is widely regarded as one of the top vignerons in the region, achieving his PHD on the aromatic profiles of the Albariño grape! Along with his wife Rebecca they produce world renown whites and reds that are among our very favorites anywhere! This region is stunning and has an almost Pacific Northwest look, with craggy coastlines, tons of Eucalyptus and pine trees. @provisionsok @kala.the.wild @lilyceleste8 #drinkmoresunshine

DAY 1: REMELLURI - RIOJA ALEVESA We started our wine journey in Rioja at the most beautiful and dreamy of all the classic wineries in Rioja - REMELLURI. Truly a legendary estate in a beautiful property set inside of a mountainous bowl, with high elevations and rolling steep hills. It’s hard to describe but it’s a place once you visit, you never want to leave! The wines evoke this beauty and their Rioja is a benchmark for the region. @demaisonselections @granja_remelluri @provisionsok #drinkmoresunshine #peaceloveprovisions “Remelluri is one of the most timeless and iconic landscapes of the wine world, as well as one of the most enchanting vineyards in Spain. Firmly anchored in its deep history, which dates back to the tenth century when Count Erramel, a Basque warrior and aristocrat from Álava, founded a small village on the site (uri in Basque); hence the name Erramel Uri evolved to Remelluri.
